1996 Suspension

How's the handling on your 1996 Mustang? When you're coming around a tight corner, do you feel like your rear is sliding out from under you? As your suspension components wear out and become soft, your handling degrades. But with a few upgrades, you'll have a better suspension than your Mustang came with when it was new.

One of the easiest ways to reduce body roll is to install a sway bar. These modifications can go on the front and rear of your Mustang, and despite their small size and easy install, they offer a noticeable improvement in handling. If that's not quite enough for your cornering needs, you can also try subframe connectors. By creating more points of connection for your Mustang's chassis, these mods create more firmness and thus better handling.

When it comes to a mod that improves handling and appearance, it's tough to beat lowering your Mustang. When you lower your center of gravity, you get a more stable planted ride, and you reduce the empty space between your tires and car. This gives you a much nicer look and a better ride. How you lower your Mustang is up to you. While some prefer lowering springs, there are some major advantages to coilovers. If total adjustability is your main goal, then air ride might be a good fit for you. Though you do lose some trunk space, it's tough to beat the coolness factor of changing your ride height with the push of a button.
