Rated 4 out of 5 by Don P from A good option Repro Autolite batteries are expensive and seem to only last for 3-4 years so this time I decided to try this fake battery topper on a less expensive battery instead of forking out another $275+ for a new reoro. I found a flat top Group 24F Exide battery at Home Depot of all places for $95 that is a suitable stand in. This battery cover is well made however I did have to clean up the edges of the caps in order to get them to pop into the openings as they were a little tight. The colors are true and while it wont fool the experts it does a nice job of simulating the original style Autolite battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thegreatmikemike from Very nice looking I had the other model (cheaper in price) and sold it to one of my friends. I bought the Scott Drake and it's a lot closer to reality. Yes it's expensive but it does look much better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Warhead from Looks great on my Motorcraft 24F - 71 Mach 1 It fit perfectly over a Motorcraft 24F battery, and the battery hold down clamp from CJ's fit it perfectly. The red snap in covers are OK but feel a little sketchy like they may not stay in place forever but only time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mustangjoe from Looks great. High quality This is a great piece, just make sure you have a flat top 24F battery! You can find them at NAPA, Auto Zone, or any place that sells Exide batteries. I even saw a Diehard flat top. Fit my '67 Coupe perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave77 from Very authentic and fits well I am using this on a Diehard 750 cranking amps battery, great fit. Unfortunately the posts are opposite, so I just turned the battery around and it works fine. It is in my 1970 Boss 302.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 429bossman from Saves a lot of money The group 24 battery is a great product .I could sure use a group 27 battery also. I know the 27 would be a success and you would be the first to have them.

I recently bought this product but cannot find anyone who has a 24F flat top battery for the cover to fit over. All have the raised panels on top which the cover will not fit over. Any suggestions who might have the right battery type to fit this cover?
I went to a Ford dealer and they no longer stock the suggested battery 8XL24FA. Theirs all have a large extensions on top making the cover unusable. I bought a 750 cranking amps Die Hard, poles are reversed but you just invert it and it fits great! My high compression rebuilt 70 Boss 302 motor would benefit from a 27 series battery which would require a larger battery holder, didn't have any luck with my Autolite repro battery, only works for one start, won't restart without a long charge on the battery charger.

The marking for the positive and negative would be opposite for a 24r.

What is the difference between this auto lite cover (Scott Drake) at $58.99 and the other auto lite cover you offer (BATC) at $37.99? Thanks
BATC is a standard reproduction, while BATC1 is made by Scott Drake, who offers a little better quality and attention to detail.

If it has a size 24F battery, you'll be good.
