We're going to start by removing the old piece by pulling out these four Phillips Head screws. You want to make sure that the vinyl for the pad covers this plastic as much as possible. In our case, it's around the edge here a little bit, but just pick it up and pull it back over. The interior can be a little tight, but overall it's not too bad. If your pads in bad shape, we do offer replacements, as well.
Here's the new base for our lid with the proper latch still on it. Pull the vinyl plate against the lid just over the top two screws. Our installation is done. You can see now it works exactly like it's supposed to. A replacement console lid is an easy to install option for a very common problem. The only tool going to be required is going to be a Phillips Head screw driver. Installation should take you no more than about five minutes, so you'll be back on the road in no time.
