Now, obviously, we haven't gotten there yet with our 1990 LX here, but I see a lot of cars with a lot of energy in the bay, where it looks really good, really clean, and leave the old, ratty hood insulation.
The hood insulation's very easy to swap out. It's a great way to really freshen up your engine bay and today we're gonna show you how to do it using my 1990 Mustang LX.
We offer two different versions of this hood insulation that will fit your 1987 through 1993 Mustang. This here's gonna be the plain version, which actually I'm going with 'cause I'm not sure I'm gonna keep the hood on the car, but I want it to look better for now.
The plain version will not have the original running horse, it's just a standard hood insulation. If you did want the running horse, the Ford version is also available on our website. We also offer new clips, if necessary, to install it, but many times you can actually reuse the originals.
Like I said, the insulation's very, very straightforward. It's a little bit time-consuming, but all you're gonna do is get some sort of removal tool, get in here, just remove all the factory clips.
Make sure the cutout for your hood light's in the right place and you're just gonna basically push these on.
As you just saw, the hood insulation is very easy to install, no tools required whatsoever except for something to pull these little clips off with, and it looks a lot better than the old torn-up piece does. Like I said, if you want original, the Ford one, it's also available on our website.
This is an easy installation. It'll take you about 15 minutes and you'll be back on the road in no time.
