Last Updated April 18, 2024 | Bill TumasSEMA 2018 At The Las Vegas Convention Center
There’s absolutely no question that The SEMA Show is one of the most talked about shows of the entire year amongst car enthusiasts. That goes for enthusiasts of any kind from JDM-lovers to classic hot rod to modern muscle, European and off-road vehicles! There’s something for everyone at #TheSEMAShow, however, Ford has one of the largest displays in the entire show. Every late-October, early-November, thousands and thousands of automotive aftermarket industry professionals trek towards Sin City to get the scoop on the latest aftermarket parts for your vehicle - that goes for restoration and performance!
Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA for short, has been taking place since 1963. Last year at SEMA 2017, over 70,000 domestic and international buyers found themselves lined up at the Las Vegas Convention Center to to see nearly 3,000 newly introduced parts, tools, and components to the automotive aftermarket industry. This goes for parts that will fit your Jeep, truck or Mustang!
Unfortunately, The SEMA Show is not open to the public. But stay posted to the CJ social channels for the latest info, videos, and photos on SEMA 2018!
CJ’s Drift-Ready 2019 Mustang GT SEMA Build
Beginning in March of 2018, we teamed up with Ford Motor Company and Ford Performance to concoct the perfect combination of head-turning looks with tire-shredding power all within your stock run-of-the-mill Mustang GT, now nicknamed Smoke Show. We couldn’t have made this project happen without the hard work the entire CJ Pony Parts team in working with such amazing vendors such as Ford Performance, Anderson Composites, Roush Performance, Baer Brakes, Rally Innovations and more! And of course, our talented video host, Bill Tumas, and his team including Rick Ebersole and Brendan Dougherty, assembling the build all before our strict deadline of SEMA 2018. Thanks for all your hard work!

CJ’s 2019 Mustang GT SEMA Build Rendering
The best part about this build is that it by no means will be parked in some garage somewhere and gather dust. Smoke Show will be traveling the country with us throughout the 2019 show season -- so keep your eyes peeled at some of the large Mustang events for this one-of-a-kind supercharged GT!
The main goal with this drift-ready 2019 Mustang GT was to create a vehicle that not only looked like it was going fast standing still but also something that could handle some sideways action too. And we’re proud to say that Smoke Show does just that! With custom fender flares and plenty of carbon fiber goodies from Anderson Composites and custom 20” x 10.5” HRE FF01 Wheels sitting on Ford Performance Track Suspension, the stance is near perfect. Combined with the custom Dark Shadow Grey paint and ghosted Stars & Stripes theme, there’s no doubt that this GT will win a trophy or two in the car show scene.
What about getting sideways and burnin’ some rubber?
That’s where our friends at Ford Performance stepped in with their 700 horsepower supercharger kit and Extreme Cat-Back Exhaust Kit with Carbon Fiber Tips to complete the look. Throw in the Eradispeed Rotors from Baer that not only look the part but help with stopping power and brake cooling being a two-piece rotor. On top of that, the Drake Muscle Cars Wicker Bill Spoiler works in tandem with the Rally Innovations Front and Side Splitters to provide additional downforce over the front and rear tires to keep this beast planted on the off chance you don’t want the back end sideways. And to complete the full package, our friends over at Sikky Manufacturing sent over a super cool custom Hydraulic Hand Brake to help lock up those rear wheels and make drifting easier than ever.
