The primary tubes are 1-1/2", the secondary tubes are 1-3/4" and the collectors are 2-1/2". The tri-Y headers also include 2-1/4" collector reducers, gaskets and hardware.

Kit Includes:
- Pertronix Black Tri-Y Headers
- H-Pipe 2-1/4"
- Intermediate Pipes 2-1/4"
- Pair of 2 1/4" Turbo Mufflers
- Tailpipes 2-1/4" (2)
- Exhaust U-clamps 2-1/4" (8)
- Exhaust Hangers (2)

Tech Tip: Power steering equipped cars will need part (SCB) to lower the power steering slave cylinder for clearance.

Additional Notes:
- This exhaust kit will NOT work with staggered shocks.
- Will NOT fit GT-40P heads or AOD transmission.
- Sometimes some small modifications are necessary to the equalizer bar and clutch rods for clearance on manual transmission vehicles.

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not ideal for novice, needed welder & enlarger I was expecting a bolt on kit... I ended up having to take it to the shop and have the H pipe ends enlarged to fit the slip on. H clamps didn't seal all around the pipe. I was hearing exhaust leaks. Pretty annoying, so I had it welded. I have it a 4 because it was cheap enough to begin with and the shop charged me $100 to mod. And the other reason is the sound is great. Very deep and classic sounding.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible fit Got this kit several weeks ago, h-pipe had to be extended, pipes don't line up correctly, hangers won't work on factory body attachment locations, will need to extend buy extensions so pipes clear rear of car. Would have been better off just buying the headers and taking the car to an exhaust shop

Will any welding be needed to install on a 1965 mustang with a 289?

Asked by: jmock09
Welding is not necessary but someone could weld this in place if they wanted to. This kit is designed to bolt together.
