Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terminal too small One of the terminals on the front (small terminals) was too small for my brown wire to slide on tightly. The harness is brand new, so it was not a worn out connector.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It Didn’t Work I bought this about three weeks ago and finally got it put in the car......it didn’t work. I tested it with an ohm meter and found it was shorted. Out and allowing voltage to the starter. I haven’t contacted C.J. yet, but will shortly, no pun intended. I do recommend parts from C.J. because I’ve never had problems with them in the past. This was probably a fluke.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not exactly as shown as pic Like Jamramer review, the terminal was too small for the boot. It had a brass-closed sleeves that inserted over, but that was too big for the boot. I called CJ, and they suggested to just use pliers to squeeze it tight. So far it has worked. Odd thing is that one in stock that rep was holding in his hand did not have the brass sleeve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from high quality, low price Slowly but surely bringing my 1965 Mustang back to life after sitting in a barn for the last 10 years. Although she starts right up, she runs rough. I'm starting small with distributor cap, points, plugs, plug wires, condesner, oil cap, battery cables and a fuel tank--all from CJ Ponyparts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great part Installed last week. The original one failed after 50 years of service on my wife's 1968 Ford mustang convertible. Worked right out of the box. Perfect fit, exact replacement. I can only hope this one lasts as long!

Can i use this together with the str9504 or the str5090 ?

Asked by: tijntomeric
Yes you could. You will have to follow the manufacturers instructions on wiring the starter because it could be different than the stock starter wiring.

I have to wire from nothing . what wires need to connect to what

Asked by: mervin
Wiring the part As It Is Pictured, the cable from the positive battery terminal goes on the large terminal on the left, the cable that goes to the starter will mount on the large post on the right, the wire coming from the ignition switch will go to one of the small terminals marked with an s. When the solenoid is mounted in the stock location the positive battery cable will mount on the large terminal nearest the battery and so on for the rest of the wires.
