In 1986, the federal government mandated that every new vehicle come with a third brake light. So, starting with that year's Ford Mustang, every Mustang came with a third brake light that was mounted in the rear window, spoiler, or trunk lid. This lens is a direct fit replacement. Sonic welding helps to keep the housing of the lens sealed, to keep water and debris out.
