Product Description

Hooker Competition Ceramic Long Tube Headers for 1965-1973 289/302 Mustangs and 1967-1973 Automatic Transmission 351W Mustangs.

Hooker Competition Headers offer the best value in the high performance header market. Designed for the value-conscious buyer who is running either a stock or mildly-modified engine, Hooker Competition Headers offer premium features at a very competitive price.

Made from durable 16-gauge mild steel tubing, the Hooker Competition header design utilizes a long transition collector to reduce back pressure and increase exhaust flow. A perfect sealing surface is assured with the 5/16" machined flanges, with welded O-ring seals.

Headers feature 1-5/8" primaries and 3" collectors.

*A custom-made intermediate pipe/H-pipe is required.
*Will fit Power Steering if you use the slave cylinder lowering bracket, SCB.
*Will fit automatic transmissions, all years.
*Will fit manual transmissions 289/302 from 1965-1970.

Are these headers compatible with an AOD transmission?

Asked by: Wileyew8
Most likely not. This was designed for classic Mustangs built before 1973, while the AOD didn't hit the market until much later. If it would work, it would be an entirely custom installation.

Will this style of header fit a '67 coupe (351W/Toploader) with a hydraulic clutch (Modern Driveline setup)?  Don't know if the description means just for stock linkage, or not.  Thanks.

Asked by: red67coupe
It won't fit because of your 351W/manual trans combo.
