Crate Engines & Cylinder Blocks
While the Bronco’s original engines provide solid power, they can’t match the output of modern crate engines. That’s why many enthusiasts choose to crate swap their Bronco for a new motor.
Companies such as Ford Performance and Edelbrock offer a variety of crate engines to suit any build. A Coyote 5.0L puts out the same power as a modern Mustang GT, with 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. That kind of output in a classic Bronco will give your ride immense power.
The Boss 363 is another popular Ford motor, with up to 507 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. Any of these V8 engines will also give you a fantastic sound you can optimize with an exhaust kit.
You can also give your Bronco a new cylinder block to start from the ground up with heads, cams, and other components of your choosing.
