This racing engine produces an impressive 350 horsepower at 5500 RPM and 400 lb-ft of torque at 4000 RPM (with headers and 2V 500 CFM carb, sold separately). It has a 10.5:1 nominal compression ratio and measures a total of 347 cubic inches. The durable SCAT forged crankshaft serves as the engine’s backbone, while the SCAT forged steel cap screw connecting rods connect the Mahle piston to the crankshaft. This engine has a Comp Camps hydraulic roller camshaft that reduces friction and helps produce fast lobe ramp rates. Roller rocker arms with a 1.60:1 ratio enhance valve-train stability at high RPMs. For longevity, this crate engine is built with a heavy-duty double-roller timing chain set.
The engine’s MSD billet distributor is perfect for racing applications since it produces a large amount of spark energy. This product is assembled with ultra-strong ARP head studs that withstand high pressure. For a progressive spring rate and equalized stress distribution, this engine is made with PAC ovate beehive valve springs. The race-winning Edelbrock Performer Air-Gap dual plane intake manifold that is built into this product allows for a boost in power by separating the runners from scorching engine oil!
For efficient cooling, this crate engine has a high-performance, sturdy water pump created by Edelbrock. A 7-quart rear sump circle track oil pan holds the engine’s oil supply, while the high-volume oil pump circulates the oil. The polished aluminum valve covers keep oil inside this crate engine and are made specifically for circle track racing. To ensure that the engine is protected from harmful vibrations, it’s constructed with an SFI-approved damper. This racing crate engine weighs 414 pounds and is proudly manufactured in the United States.
Tech Tips:
- This engine has a rear sump performance oil pan and pickup, regular rotation timing cover, regular rotation water pump, and non-EFI valve covers.
- The timing chain cover will work with most regular rotation water pumps
- Fuel pump eccentric M-6287-B302 installed, allows the use of mechanical fuel pump
- A standard rotation water pump is installed on the engine. Other applications may require different water pumps and timing chain covers
- The damper M-6316-D302 may require a spacer for pulley alignment
- Ford Performance flywheel M-6375-D302B is not included but will work for most 157-tooth manual transmission applications. For other transmission applications use the proper "0" balance flywheel
- Firing order 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 (5.0L HO and 351W order)
Please Note: Headers, carburetor, and flywheel are NOT included.
