Hedman

Product Description

Pair of Hedman Square Port Painted Shorty Headers for 1965-1973 289/302 Mustangs.

Hedman's standard-duty, uncoated headers are manufactured using 18 gauge, mandrel bent primary tubes, and 1/4" flanges. Features 1-1/2" port primaries and 2-1/2" collectors.

The factory black paint applied to uncoated hedders is not hi-temp, and is for pre-installation protection only. For the ultimate in protection against the elements, we suggest Hedman's Original HTC coating.

All Hedman street Hedders are MADE IN THE USA.

*The Square Port design will work with some original heads and aftermarket heads such as AFR, Trick Flow and Ford Racing GT40s.

Product Questions

Will these headers bolt up to the stock exhaust pipes without doing any modifications to the exhaust system besides changing out stock exhaust manifolds? If not, can you recommend headers that will fit a stock exhaust.

Asked by: jwinslow
I have a 1966 Mustang with the 289 c code. It has dual exhaust but bolts up to original exhaust manifolds.

I bought these headers for my 1966 Mustang coupe, and I wanted to know what mid pipe I would use with them.  Or what complete exhaust kit would I use?

Asked by: Fatfred
You would need a custom h-pipe made and connect it to the exhaust of you choice.

Will they fit gt40p heads

Asked by: 302 Mustang
For anyone wondering if they will fit gt40p heads.. they will not, I bought these recently and the drivers side headers basically come in contact with 2 of the spark plugs and leave no room for the other 2.

I have a 67 mustang with a 302 and an AOD trans.  Do you sell an exhaust system that will bolt up with these headers or do I need to go custom?  Thanks

Asked by: Al876012
We do not sell a complete exhaust that is specific for an AOD equipped car, You would need custom down pipes and h-pipe made, than you could use one of the exhaust kits we offer.

Will this fit a 1966 289, and do they come coated?

Asked by: texscorpion
These will fit, they come uncoated. The factory black paint applied to uncoated hedders is not hi-temp, and is for pre-installation protection only. For the ultimate in protection against the elements, we suggest Hedman's Original HTC coating.
