The 2011-2017 GT, 2012-2013 Boss 302, and 2016 GT350 Mustang’s PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) aids in venting pressure from the crankcase back into the intake system. In doing this, however, oil vapors also pass through and collect in the intake tube, intake manifold runners and can even dilute your gas, decreasing the octane of the fuel which can affect how your Mustangs performs. J&L Oil Separator Company has redesigned the old oil separator to increase the one-ounce capacity to three ounces! A rugged black anodized finish adds to the durable billet aluminum construction. Featuring a multi-stage filtering system, the fine oil vapors pass through two separate filters. First, a fine mesh stainless steel screen collects the vapors as they pass through until they become heavy enough to drop to the second filter. The oil droplets then pass through a 1/2” thick 1/16th” aluminum honeycomb filter where they grow into larger droplets and fall to the bottom of the canister. Preventing the oil vapors from continuing on into the intake system.
A knurled tank base allows for easy disposal of the collected oil, while an O-ring keeps the seal tight to prevent leaks. J&L Oil Separator Co. designs and builds its products in the USA to be a direct-fit upgrade and a plug-and-play install.

The 3.0 holds 3 full ounces of fluid, which is quite a bit when you're talking about oil separation. This is a 2-stage oil separator, starting with a fine-mesh stainless steel screen and going through a honeycomb filter, finally ending in the bottom of the storage of the separator itself. They're available in the black anodized finish shown here, or also a clear anodized.
The JLT oil separator features billeted aluminum construction and is very easy to empty. Grab the bottom here, dump out any oil, there you can see the honeycomb filter. Once it's empty, just thread it right back on. We have our 2015 engine on a stand, but the installation is the same on all models and couldn't be easier. We pull back on these little gray clips, pop off the factory home and remove it, grab your separator. It uses factory fittings, so simply slide it in place, lock it on. Same thing down there. That's all there is to it.
