Some Mustang enthusiasts don't want to get rid of their rear seats for the added benefit of the rear chassis brace. Also, obtaining the rear seat delete parts from the Boss 302 is costly and having a rear seat delete made can be a challenge. Steeda addressed both issues and created an economical rear chassis x-brace that allows the rear seats to be used and fold down.
Steeda Rear Chassis X-Brace Features:
- Distributes loads between rear shocks, springs and chassis

Steeda's x-brace installs in the chassis area between the rear wheel wells behind the rear seats. By coupling this part of the rear structure together, chassis rigidity is greatly increased. This design is a significant improvement over Ford's original design for the Boss 302. By attaching to the rear shock towers (instead of attaching to the sheet metal behind the rear seats like the Boss 302 brace), the brace is able to more effectively distribute the loads between the rear shocks, springs and the chassis, and not just the sheet metal of the vehicle. The result is much more effective chassis deflection reduction with improved suspension compliance. Simply bolt the x-brace in place or weld it for maximum effectiveness.
