Whiteline Transmission Mount Insert for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 V6 Mustangs and 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 EcoBoost and GT Mustangs with a Manual Transmission and all 2012-2013 Boss 302 Mustangs.
Ford really stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with the 2011-2014 Mustangs, and now 2015-2023 Mustangs, but fell short when they designed the transmission mount for the 6-speed MT82 manual transmission. This is where Whiteline steps in and offers their Manual Transmission Mount Insert for the EcoBoost, V6, GT, and Boss 302 Mustangs, as a direct replacement and performance upgrade over the stock insert bushing.
The factory transmission mount has extreme voiding that allows for excessive and dangerous transmission movement which causes misalignment of the linkage mechanism. When that happens the end results are in the form of missed shifts and binding under aggressive shifting or heavy-cornering. Whiteline has designed this simple, yet effective insert as a direct replacement for your factory transmission mount that fills those voids and improves overall shift engagement during spirited driving, which results in more precise shifts when they count the most!
If you're tired of grinding gears and missing those critical high RPM shifts, this Transmission Mount Insert from Whiteline should be the go-to choice for your S197 or S550 Mustang.
*Fits factory 6-speed transmission mounts only.
*The insert bushing comes in black.
Please Note: Does NOT fit Mach-1 models.

The mount is a very simple part made of a firm synthetic elastomer material. What it does is it fills up the void in the factory transmission mount, making it stronger and less likely to move under shifts. For this installation, you'll need a jack and jack stands or a lift and pull jack, a 1/2 inch impact gun or 1/2 inch ratchet, 19 mm socket, 17mm socket, and safety glasses.
The installation is pretty straightforward. You want to support your transmission. You're going to remove the 4 bolts that hold the crossmember in, remove the crossmember from the mount, insert the mount, and reinstall the crossmember. We've got the transmission supported, so now we can remove the crossmember bolts. Remove the nuts that hold the crossmember to the mounts, and remove the crossmember.
Here you can see the voids in the factory rubber mount. Our insert is going to basically fit right in those openings to strengthen the entire assembly. I'm going to put some of the supplied grease onto the insert before we install it. Slide it up into place and it slides right in. We'll reinstall the crossmember, and the installation is finished.
I'd say the car shifts nice and feels real tight. One of the things we were concerned about was an increase in noise and vibration from the mount. Basically, it is almost a solid mount and anybody who's got a solid mount in their car knows a lot of vibration is transferred through. We're happy to report, it's pretty minimal. There's a little bit of an increase we can feel through the car, but overall it's very minor and something that you can live with on a daily drive with no problem.
Now we'll try a 2-3 shift. It's supposed to be one of the biggest noticeable differences with this bushing. Perfect, it went right in and felt real solid. The Whiteline mount insert worked exactly as advertised with no noticeable increase in noise or vibration. Our 2-3 shift especially is a lot firmer. Installation couldn't be easier, and should only take you around 10 minutes. You'll be back on the road in no time.
