Dome Lamp Dimmer Module Standard Mustang 1965-1973

Soften and modernize the interior lighting in your classic Mustang with this Standard Dome Lamp Dimmer Module. Unlike the standard shut-off, the module features delay and fade functions to keep the dome light lit for an extra two and a half seconds before it fades.

Mount the module in a weatherproof area, then wire the connections as outlined in the installation notes and you'll have a dimming dome light in no time at all. The dimmer module uses the existing wiring to sense when the doors open and close. When the door is closed and the dome light would normally turn off, the dimmer module takes control and holds the dome light on for a few seconds (delay feature). This delay gives you time to find the ignition slot and find your seat belt.

The standard model is rather simple to install. The dome light dimmer uses two wiretaps on the existing wires going up to the dome light which are usually easily accessible under the dash. A third wire is attached to the ground. Unlike the deluxe module, the standard module doesn't include the gradual warming up when turning on the dome light. Upgrading to the deluxe dome lamp dimmer module adds features but requires a five-wire installation compared to the three-wire installation of the standard module.
