The 2005-2014 Mustang Maximum Motorsports K-Member was designed to optimize roll center height for Mustangs lowered to the limit of the American Iron rules. Unlike the stock k-member which allows deflection under braking loads and cornering, Maximum Motorsports' K-Member is stronger and stiffer.
Like most Maximum Motorsports upgrades, this k-member was meant to be a bolt-on upgrade by allowing the use of stock motor mounts, stock front control arms and both electric and hydraulic steering racks. The design also allows the oil pan to be removed without additional engine support. SLA style suspension can be installed in the future with the Maximum Motorsports K-member.
Features and Benefits:
- Improves suspension geometry, strength and stiffness
- 1-3/4" diameter 0.095" wall thickness mild steel DOM tubing
- Deflects 30% less than the stock k-member
- Utilizes stock motor mounts for no increase in NVH
- Unique aluminum blocks allow squaring of the k-member
- Same ground plane with more clearance for the engine, exhaust, etc.
Please Note: Maximum Motorsports Bumpsteer Kit (BSK22) is required.
Maximum Motorsports' K-Member uses DOM steel tube construction and weighs in at 42-1/2" lbs. A 2-point brace is used to stabilize rearward control arm mounts. All bare steel is finished with a durable black powder coat. Standard control arm pivot points are located 5/8" higher than stock with a second set of holes 1-3/8" higher than stock. The new locations still accept stock control arm bushings as well as aftermarket bushings. Additional attachment points can be used for the upper control arms of an SLA suspension setup.
Mounting brackets for Maximum Motorsports radiator core support brace also serve as an adjustable mount for the front sway bar. Although compatible with the stock 2011-2014 radiator core support brace, minor modification to the OEM brace is required.
