Please Note: Due to a manufacturing change in the factory coil pack wiring harness, this will NOT fit 2016-2017 5.0L Mustangs built after February 23rd, 2016. Please see P/N: MSD87311 for those models.

This module allows you launch the car between 1,800-9,900 RPM in 100 RPM increments. This MSD module (MSD 8731) allows for consistent launches resulting in quicker 60-foot times, and more importantly quicker ET/MPH down the quarter mile. When the 2-Step Module is activated, the set RPM will be held steady. Once the green LED lights up, slip your foot off the clutch and you’re off. The launch RPM can be adjusted by two rotary dials that are built onto the module.

We’re here with MSD’s 2-Step Launch Control designed to fit your 2011 through 2014 Mustang GT. This 2-Step Launch Control from MSD is a perfect choice if you're into drag racing your 2011 through 2014 Mustang GT. The way a 2-Step works, it allows you to pick an RPM that you're going to hold the car at when you're launching the car. For example, if you want to launch the car at 5000 RPM at the track, you set this for 5000 RPM, and when you floor the car sitting there in neutral, it's going to hold it right at that number. It makes for very consistent launches, and much better 60 foots. It might look like a lot of wiring, but the installation is actually very easy for the two step as much of it is going to be plug and play. All this stuff over here is going to simply plug in. You've got one ground, and you've got two activation wires. You're only going to use one of these. Basically what you're going to do, the one wire is designed for use with a 12 volt switch to activate the 2-Step. The other one will be for a clutch activated switch. If you have a stick car, you're going to use this one. If you have an automatic, you would use this one. Setting up a 2-Step is easy as well. You have two dial indicators on the side here. It's going to allow you to adjust in 100 RPM increments between 1800 RPM’s all the way up to 9900 RPM’s.
