ACCELATEC Complete Clutch Kit King Cobra Style With Flywheel/Hardware/Cable Mustang 5.0L 1986-1995

This Clutch Kit (CK268) is ideal for 86-93 Small Block powered Mustangs. A potent combination of 10-1/2 inch King Cobra Style Clutch Kit, ACCELATEC 157 Tooth Aluminum Flywheel, all supporting components, and ARP hardware makes this kit just what you need to trick out your small block Mustang. Your 5.0 Foxbody or first-year SN95 will benefit from snappier throttle response with our ACCELATEC aluminum flywheel, and the King Cobra style clutch offers great wear characteristics and a light pedal feel. An adjustable clutch cable puts your pedal's engagement point just where you want it and adjusts from a mount on the firewall. Fastened with ARP hardware, you can be confident in the durability of your components.

This kit from ACCELATEC includes a McLeod Aluminum Flywheel that is made in the USA and SFI-Certified. Being CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, it features a replaceable steel friction plate for serviceability, as well as a 1045 steel hardened ring gear. The King Cobra style pressure plate is made from nodular iron and releases with less pedal pressure than other aftermarket clutches. It is paired with the matching clutch disc, which has a sprung hub for shock absorption and smooth operation. It is also made slightly thinner for a quicker release.

The included Steeda Adjustable Clutch Cable Kit replaces your factory clutch cable and quadrant with an adjustable version featuring billet aluminum components for a more precise feel. The adjuster is firewall mounted for convenience of access. The ARP Flywheel Bolt Kits for your flywheel and pressure plate are superior to your factory bolts. Made from forged aerospace alloy and then heat-treated before machining, each bolt has the correct head design and arrives with any necessary washers.

Please Note: Some 1986-1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L Bellhousings will possibly need to have the area "trimmed" in between the bottom/center and clutch release lever hole. Ford had two foundries make their bellhousings and only one had this issue. This problem is most common on 1989-1990 bellhousings. The incorrect bellhousings had a raised "lip" that can cause contact/interference with the pressure plate. The area around the inside of the bellhousing needs to be trimmed approximately 8-10mm.

Tech Tip: The Flywheel in this kit can be used in 3 different configurations (depending on the vehicle) with the included counterweights, dowel pins, and hardware. 0oz. for Internal Balance applications and 28oz. or 50oz. for External Balance applications.
