Pro-5.0 Manual 5-Speed Shifter For T-5/ T-45 Transmission Mustang 1983-2001

The Pro-5.0 manual shifter is considered the original -- the measuring stick for all other shifters. The famous "offset-preload" coil springs find third gear for you; basically you can't miss 2nd to 3rd gear! Also, Pro-5.0 features adjustable positive stops to prevent over extending the shift lever, preventing costly transmission damage.

The Pro-5.0 shifter offers up to a 33% shorter throw than the factory unit. It includes a Pro-5.0 shifter handle. Unfortunately this shifter does NOT include a shift knob, however you can reuse your factory shift knob or use any shift knob with the correct 12mm X 1.75 thread pattern. This will fit all 1983-2000 V8 Mustangs and some 2001 V8 Mustangs. Also fits 1987-1993 4-Cylinder and 1994-2004 V6 Mustangs with manual transmissions.

With the installation of a new Pro-5.0 aftermarket shifter for your 1965-2009 Mustang, you will be able to eliminate any shifting problems that you may have been experiencing with your stock transmission shifter. The transmissions that came factory installed on many 1965-2009 Mustangs have been known to have transmission complications that relate to the way that the standard shifter moves through the gears. Often times, these OEM shifters had the tendency to allow drivers to easily miss their second to third gear shifts, slipping the gears and bending the shifting fork, which can be a death sentence for a transmission.

Tech Tip: If you have a 2001 Mustang, you must check your door tag to verify your correct transmission type (see below).

*This shifter will not work on the Tremec 3650 transmission. You must use MS21 if you have a Tremec 3650.
