By relocating your current shock mounts and springs into the frame rail, the Detroit Speed Rear Speed Kit 2 redefines ride quality and strength in your 1979-1993 Mustang! The empty slots left by your previous springs are taken over with your choice of either non-adjustable, single, or double-adjustable shocks. While the single version’s rebound adjustment is excellent for street use, the high and low-speed adjustment lets the double iteration excel at performance applications too. Backed by “Detroit Tuned” valving, it’s a fine choice for polishing up handling while increasing tire clearance.

- “Detroit Tuned” valving optimizes ride quality & handling

For extra support, Detroit Speed supplies a tubular sway bar with a 3/4” diameter. After mounting directly to the chassis and rear axle, deflection caused by heavy cornering is brought down to a minimum. Swivel-Links then eliminate bind, allowing full articulation at the same time so you’re spared the trouble of noisy spherical rod ends. Pinion angle adjustment is simple too since the versatile design works around unbolting the Swivel Links. Each component in the kit is built with a bolt-on design in mind, certifying installation is one step easier.
Tech Tip: After the coilover conversion is complete, Detroit Speed Mini-Tubs may be installed in the car at any time, sold separately.
Additional Notes:
- A coilover conversion kit is required before installing the Swivel-Link since there is no spring perch on the links similar to the ones on the factory arm.
- Depending on your tire and Detroit Speed Mini-Tub width, fuel tank modifications may be required.
