This distributor is ready to use as soon as it arrives to you and can be installed by simply connecting three wires. The billet aluminum housing has 5/8" smaller diameter than stock Ford distributors to more easily fit in your engine compartment and cut down on crowding. This smaller housing also provides accommodation for induction setups. It comes with a small diameter black cap with stainless steel, HEI-style terminals. An ignition module produces a powerful inductive spark for improved combustion of the fuel mixture, which results in a quick start, smooth idle and enhanced performance on the road. The maintenance-free magnetic pickup triggers the high voltage sparks, while a sealed ball bearing guides the oversized shaft.

MSD's distributor (P/N: 83525) also has their Mechanical Advance Assembly beneath the bolt-down cap and race rotor. It features different springs and stop bushings for easy tuning on curves to match whatever you need. The assembly can be locked out for crank trigger systems. The vacuum advance canister increases economy on long drives, and for protection, there is a built-in rev limiter. This distributor does not require the use of an MSD ignition control.

Please Note: A new MSD Coil is recommended for maximum voltage output to help you get the most at higher RPMs.
