Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Perfect I bought this to replace the standard starter that quits working every 6 months. This model fits much easier because of its size and works great. It also sounds cooler cranking the engine.

Would this starter work with a T5 manual transmission?

Asked by: Kevfleischer
Yes.

In an answer to another question about if this works with a T5, you mention that it requires EFI (electronic fuel injection?). I assume this is a mistake as I cannot figure out why this starter would require EFI. Can you verify?

Asked by: dmetzgar
This will work without efi.

Hi, 66 mustang 289 4 speed manual, 160 teeth with aluminium bellhousing. I will install 157 tooth flywheel (mtf1) and Mcleod 10'' diaphragm clutch (ck202) and conserve my little bellhousing. Will this starter work with that? Thanks

Asked by: jean bruno
This will fit if the appropriate bell housing is used.

Do we need to put a jumper between the terminals like on other powermaster starters?

Asked by: mheinz57
The correct way to wire the starter, as to not have the starter run on after the engine is started, is to move the heavy gauge wire that runs from the starter side of the solenoid to the starter, to the battery side of the solenoid, than use the wire included with the starter and run that from the starter side of the solenoid to the starters solenoid.

Asked by: Mustang 65
