This crank pulley spacer is important for your accessory drive. If you are using a Ford Racing crank damper listed above, this pulley spacer will make everything line up nicely.
Tech Tip: 1979 and earlier 351W engines with a 0.917" Ford Racing crank sprocket can use a Ford Racing Crankshaft Pulley Spacer (CJ Pony Parts # M8510A351) if 0.070" is machined from the rear of the damper hub. Early 3-bolt crank pulleys generally bolt directly to the damper (damper is drilled for 3- and 4-bolt patterns). However, sheave alignment should be checked and the pulley shimmed as necessary to correct any misalignment.
