This Pair of Edelbrock 170cc Aluminum E-Street Cylinder Head is intended for operating in the idle state up to the 5500 RPM range. This 2.02" heads are ideal for the stock pistons in your 289, 302 or 351W small block engine and use a 3/8" stud mount. Fabricated from A356 aluminum in the USA and heat treated to T-6 specifications, these heads are a reliable, quality, direct fit replacement for the standard, stock cylinder heads on the small block engine.

*289 and 302 engine sizes require head bolt bushings.

The intake and exhaust ports are 2.02” and 1.60” respectively, both a larger size than the stock valves, which results in increased power. The combustion chamber features an advanced, modern design for greater mileage potential and improved efficiency. The rocker stud bosses have Heli-Coil threaded inserts so no damage occurs and the torque load is properly dispersed. For extra protection from wear in your engine, there are hardened spring cups between the valve springs and casting as well. These fresh Edelbrock E-Street Cylinder Heads are not compatible with the Hydraulic Roller Camshafts and must be used with hydraulic flat tappet camshafts with .550” of max lift.

289 and 302 engine sizes require head bolt bushings.   do i need to buy bushes for the bolts? you recommend arp-head-bolt-kit-black-12-point-289-302/p/HBK3701/ is it ok just with these bolts?

You will need bushings even with the ARP headbolts.

Spring height is 800 for stock 302 (1968 vintage) what is the e-street height? Worried about coil bind. Also using comp cam 268 high energy cam.. Push rod length is increased? Approx. how much

No issues what you are asking here, Comp 268 Cam no problem whatsoever, same length push rods, hardened for guide plates, 1.800" installed spring height....push rod length 6.800"........

Sorry E-Street cylinder heads are not compatible for hydraulic roller camshafts, have been this way since they were released when new, the reason is the valves and valve seats they cannot be used for hydraulic roller camshafts....

The Edelbrock E-Street cylinder head line was not and is not intended for hydraulic roller camshafts, here are a few reasons why they do not condone them with hydraulic roller camshafts, they do not come with the hydraulic roller spring pressures, they come set up for flat tappet camshafts as they only have 120 lbs./seat pressure and 320 lbs./open pressure, hydraulic roller set ups have 150 lbs./seat pressure and 420 lbs./open pressure. If you choose to use these or are using them already with a hydraulic roller camshaft, you most likey will not be able to rev your engine above 5,500 rpm, up to 6,500 rpm like hydraulic rollers can....bottom line, most likely because of the price point is why.........these might be used with a hydraulic roller camshaft...........as the correct cylinder heads do cost more....
