Eastwood 1 Quart Can of Black Rust Encapsulator.Stop rust in its tracks! Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator has been reformulated with twice the corrosion resistance!
You thought it was good before, wait 'til you try this Rust Encapsulator! It seals and stops rust and corrosion from spreading, but it performs even better than Eastwood's original formula. Tested against well-known brands, the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator has proven to be superior in sunlight resistance, preventing rust creep, and overall durability.
Eastwood Rust Encapsulator has been tested by an independent lab to be one of the most effective rust-preventive products yet. Rust Encapsulator is a great primer for floor pans and other underbody parts. It fills tiny pin-holes and surface irregularities, and is compatible with lacquer, enamel and urethane topcoats (including Eastwood Chassis Black).
For the absolute ultimate rust remedy, first brush or spray-on Eastwood Rust Converter, then prime with Rust Encapsulator. One-quart can covers about 50 square feet, and contains no isocyanates. Heat-resistant up to 400 degreesF. Made in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Team Brahma from Worth the investment I use this as a base for my frame painting on my show truck and am really pleased with it - so much so I plan to do my tow rig next then probably my daily driver. Follow the prep guidlines well (as you should with any paint product) and you'll be pleased with the results too. I've actually started to shoot it with the airless sprayer that I got off here, and I think that actually gives a superior coating to brushing it on. Plus it dries quickly regardless of the application method, so you can move on to final finishes sooner. Definitely worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Larrie from Works Great Looks Great. I wired brushed the shock mounts on my F150 several times with Fast Etch and used a pre prep cleaner by Eastwood before I applied the Rust Encapsulator. It dries pretty quickly and has a nice smooth shine just like the Extreme Black Chassis gloss. It's too early to report on the rust coming back, but I doubt it will. I used Extreme Black Chassis gloss on my U-Haul trailer hitch 6 years ago and still no rust. Nothing so I believe the Rust Encapsulator will be very similar.. I plan to use Rust Encapsulator for the whole frame, but I'm still using the Fast Etch on my frame first. I do a few feet a day when I have time. Getten' Er Done.... So far this is the best product I've used to control rust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Scott Dodd from Superior Product I was skeptical at first about how thin the product was straight out of the can. However,it penetrates into the surface rust very well.Use a disposable brush to work into tight, complex areas, and spray gun on large flat surfaces, and put on two coats. It is well worth the cost(cheap considering you will never have to address paint,or rust on the chassis ever again). This is hands down, the best product I have ever used!Period!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Noble9 from Rust killer I first used this product about 6 years ago in combination with Eastwoods Rust Converter on some seriously rusted areas on my 1988 5th ave. I was using the car as a Taxicab at the time in Syracuse NY, where the winters are long and they use a lot of salt. I drove it through 2 winters after that as a cab and the rust never came back where I had treated it. I still have the car, and it still hasn't. I just recently used both products on some steel wheels ( now mounted with snow tires) that will be put to the same test. Great stuff!

Rated 5 out of 5 by spectrum233 from GREAT ON RUST I've been in the auto body industry for over 40 years this products is great for controlling rust in areas that are not easily accessible & with ceramic chassis coating, you've got a great barrier of protection. It won't replace sandblasting & corrosion coating, but it's the next best thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hokie from RV Rust Maintenance This my first experience using a rust "proofing" product and it has been a good one. The Rust Encapsulator was easy to apply; I wire brushed the exposed RV body parts, along the bottom of the storage bays, did some rough sanding into the existing paint, and brushed on the Encapsulator. It went on smoothly and it goes a long way. I applied only one coat and it looks great. Convenient on-line ordering and and very fast delivery was a plus. I'd recommend this to anyone in need of this type of product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 66RcknHrs from Everything you expect! I purchased Eastwood Rust Encapsulator previously and again. I am using it as I totally overhaul my '66 Mustang Fastback. This product is fantastic! I apply two coats and get good coverage. Don't leave the can open as you use it. Stir it completely and pour what you can apply within a ten minute window into another container (such as a one pound coffee can). The Rust Encapsulator will "skin over" quickly. I clean my brush immediately with a solvent and can reuse it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sportfisher17 from OK I guess, as good as POR 15 with less prep work. I have been using this for several years. If you don't top coat with a good paint or undercoating and water lays on it, it will bleed rust through, but so will POR 15. I tried painting a hitch with rustoleum, POR 15, and Eastwood rust encapsulator. I believe plain rustoleum doesn't last quite as long as the others. I boat quite a bit and the hitch is water a lot. having said that, it is much easier to use than POR 15 and less expensive.

Hello, I have a Ford F-150 and I am seeing some rust spots underneath the truck. Can apply the rust encapsulator directly or I may need to sand the area first?
You will need to clean the area with a wire brush first and use a solvent based cleaner before applying the rust encapsulator.
