Varex performance mufflers feature an internal electronic butterfly valve mechanism to direct the muffler’s exhaust flow within. In the open position, the valve directs the exhaust flow through the path of least resistance, acting like a straight-through muffler with a rich exhaust note reminiscent of a race exhaust. In the closed position, the valve blocks the exhaust flow, forcing it through the chambered paths to produce a mellow and street-friendly sound.
