i took the passenger side header off to add some permatex to the copper gasket to get rid of an exhaust leak, and it seems the number 4 flange slightly warped after heating up. the front bolt on that flange was tougher to get out than put in, and putting it back in the second time i noticed it was angled. i used a mirror and flashlight to look through the hole, and that one just won't line up now even though the back bolt on that flange does. regardless, the welding and overall craftsmanship is still good for a $180 set of headers, and they look nice.
I have had a set of these on my 88 5.0 LX since 1994 and I had never even had to replace the Gaskets that came with them until 2010 when I pulled the motor to replace it with a better one. I still run these headers today.
these are a good pair of headers for the money ive had them on my mustang for 12 years they finally just recently had to purchase a new pair they were falln apart the only down side is its hard to change spark plugs wth these headers
