ACC Black Mass Back Cut Pile Carpet for 1964-1/2 Mustang Coupes.

Almost nothing can freshen up the interior of your Mustang more than installing new carpet. This premium mass back cut pile carpet is manufactured by ACC and comes pre-molded in 2-pieces for an easy installation.

Cut pile carpet is similar to what is found in most domestic vehicles since 1974. ACC's nylon cut pile is constructed from 100% first quality Dupont yarn. The material is tufted on a 1/8 gauge machine with 14 ounces of yarn per square yard. It is then dyed using the finest dyes available and tested for ozone humidity fading & light fastness. Cut pile carpet will help modernize the look and feel of the interior in your classic Mustang.

What is mass back? "Mass Back" is a tough, rubber layer between the carpet and the jute insulation that increases the form and rigidity of the carpet, while decreasing road noise. It virtually eliminates the need for Dynamat. Mass back carpet will fit just like the original carpet once it is installed, but increases moldability, sound deadening and insulation.

Includes a heel pad and comes with jute backing attached to the underside like original.

*What makes this carpet different from 1965 Mustang carpet is where the carpet meets the sill plates. On 1965 Mustangs the carpet runs all the way up on the rockers and on 1964-1/2 Mustangs it does not. 1965 Mustangs also had an additional toe pad, 1964-1/2 does not.

Tech Tip: Out of the box, you may notice a few wrinkles. Laying the carpet out in the sun for a few hours will help to soften the backing prior to installation to help reduce the amount of wrinkles.
